Quote:

The Wenatchee Wild will join the BCHL as its 17th franchise starting with the 2015-16 season, the team and league announced Monday at a media conference held in the central Washington city.
...
The Wild had been a member the North American Hockey League (NAHL) since the 2008-09 season. They have had a winning record in each of their seven seasons of existence and this past season, they had six players on their roster committed to NCAA Div. I programs. Playing out of Wenatchee's Town Toyota Center, the team averages about 3,000 fans at home games.
Wonder what the advantage is to BCHL over NAHL. Pure guess - travel.

How about a March Madness style!!!

16 teams in groups of 4
one game elimination
winner from each group goes to the final four.

The 3 Junior league Championships and the top regular season team will host the preliminary round.
A neutral site would host the final four.

5 teams from each league and how about the USHL champ.

Most stacked team in CHL 2015-2016

Hey guys I was wondering which is the most stacked team in WHL, OHL and Q skill and potential wise next year. Let's do that assuming only McDavid makes the NHL from 2015 drafted players. Junior hockey is starting to interest me more and more so I'd be thankful if one of you guys could help me out here.

If you list a team maybe you could name some players to keep eye on.

Best 98- and 99-born players in Ontario Junior A&B?

I have been following the CHL for years but I only recently discovered the product that Junior A & B have to offer.

I see that many end up committing going to universities, which is great!

That being said, who would be the most promising younger players around the CCHL 1 and 2, OJHL and GOJHL?

OJHL Spring/Summer Development Teams

Does anyone have any info or feedback on what I was told to be regarding a Spring/Summer Circuit of OJHL development teams.

This upcoming circuit will have 99's & 2000's from what I was told.

1. Does everyone of the OJHL teams have one & participate?

2. What are the pros & cons of joining/making one that are not so apparent to a newbie family?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

As a Canadian that enjoys junior hockey to keep tabs on top prospects, I do try to catch CHL games on SN when I can. I think the group they have that covers junior hockey is fantastic and enjoyable to follow.

First off, RJ Broadhead, Sam Cosentino, and Rob Faulds are awesome to listen to, especially RJ. Genuine commentary that follows the play, doesn't mess up player names, and has the better end of many epic calls. Cosentino offers some good insight and Faulds is a great host IMO.

On the panel, you have Jeff Marek who does awesome work but is criminally robbed of overall airtime on SN. There's other guys like Warriner and Armstrong who I personally like on the panel. Good sense of humour and insight but aren't disagreeable or dumbfounded. There's Hirsch but he's meh. Not really a fan of Shannon. I'm probably forgetting a couple others.

I know this is on the main board but I was hoping that some CHL watchers out there would agree with me in the sense that these men do some underappreciated on-air work. :handclap:

Great year hes having this year. Great 2 way game, penalty killer and playing on the power play. Leading the team in points and pp goals. I watch a lot of wheat king games and he impresses in every single one. As ot stands right now I have him going first overall in his draft year. Good size and a centerman helps that but the hockey sense and skill is beyond his years. Cant wait to see what happens the rest of the season.

Lack of Major Junior/Tier 1 in NY Metro area

Seeking an explanation on why there is no local top level junior programs in the Ny metro area when there seems to be the talent there for it? Weren't there just like 5 guys on the U.S. WJ team from the area?

Only the lower level junior like tier 3 can be found in this region. Not even Tier 2 NaHL.

Is the talent not there to support it? What are the other factors? Talented kids who need the step up in talent level from tier3 are essentially forced to move from their high school and make other sacrifices for that next level of competition.
